David Parr is an actor, author and magician who has been fascinated by the strange and mysterious since childhood. When he is not mystifying guests at special events, he devotes his time to theatrical endeavors. Around Halloween, David can often be found haunting atmospheric locations with original shows such as Haunting History, a guided tour of the shadowy territory where history meets myth and folklore, and Visions of Poe, an interactive journey into the tales and poems of Edgar Allan Poe. David Parr can be seen every week in The Magic Cabaret, a show dedicated to the rich history of magic in the city of Chicago. The Magic Cabaret is now in its tenth year and was selected by the Travel Channel as one of the best magic shows in America! David is the author of some very well-regarded books about the art of magic, his writings have appeared in publications in the US, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Australia, and Sweden, and he was an editor for MAGIC Magazine, the top magic journal in the world.
