Whether they’re playing an unplugged acoustic set for small intimate crowds, or a full on live set for packed arenas, Slingtown has brought their energetic and original stage show to thousands of fans nationwide.
The nucleus of the “Slingtown sound” is the guys’ original 7-part harmony that has created a buzz both in the Bay Area and Nashville. Their “wall of harmony” (coined by country superstar Dusty Drake), coupled with one of the best live stage shows around, has kept the band performing everywhere, grabbing new fans and admirers throughout the country. See why DJ Randy Jones at 95.3 KRTY is hailing the band as "one to keep an eye on" and a "show not to miss."
If you like bands like the Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers, Rascal Flatts, Alabama, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Trace Adkins and Brooks & Dunn, you'll like Slingtown’s style of music which blends the best of all these artists and more—what they call 7-part Southern Harmony with attitude!™
Unlike most bands that tend to stay in one “comfort zone” to where their whole set sounds the same, Slingtown morphs themselves to blend the best of traditional country (Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, George Strait, and others) with contemporary country (Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, and others), and then they throw in a little Honky Tonk edge that roots from their backgrounds in rock and folk. This melting pot is the foundation of their unique sound that has won both hard core traditional and new country followers alike; even those “I’ll never listen to country music in my lifetime” rock-n-rollers have been found coming out to Slingtown shows to enjoy their original and high-energy sound.
So where did these guys come from? The musicians in Slingtown™ have a common foundation in rock, country, and blues through years of performing and recording both in rock and country markets. All seven members were born and raised in California (Nashville West), and all came from various musical backgrounds and influences. The variety of compositions and arrangements in their original and cover material reflect that diverse dynamic brought to the project by each player, and their camaraderie on-stage makes for a fun-filled event you’ll never forget. The band fully believes that when you come to see one of their shows, the music is just one element; without the energy and movement on stage to keep the crowd guessing and wanting to see what they’ll do next, they feel that you wouldn’t be getting your money’s worth. With Slingtown, you get the whole package (and they wouldn’t have it any other way).
Slingtown™ has both opened for and played alongside such national recording artists as Ty Herndon, Restless Heart, Chris Cagle, Rascal Flatts, Blackhawk, Lonestar, Lee Greenwood, Chris Ledoux, The Bellamy Brothers, Sara Evans, Eric Heatherly,Sara Buxton, Jason Michael Carroll, Eric Church, Carolina Rain, Taylor Swift, Dusty Drake, and Luke Bryan on the country side; and Pat Travers, Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Alex Lidgerwood (Santana), Starship, Eric Burdon & the New Animals, Molly Hatchet, The Outlaws, Peter Tork (The Monkees), Survivor, and Eric Martin (Mr. Big) on the rock side.
Fueled by the fact that each member can both sing and write his own music, Slingtown has been touring the domestic U.S. writing a string of songs that have gained them many devoted fans throughout the country. Concentrating on 7-part harmony and acoustic texturing, Slingtown continually wows the crowd with that crisp country sound of harmony and intricate rhythms that has become their trademark in a new generation of country crossover music.
