Soul O Drums World Music Band from Patchogue, NY

Soul O Drums is a drums and percussion trio featuring cross border rhythms composed in modern complex arrangements and played with primal energy. The group adapts the content of the program to suit the needs of the venue and event, but performs all music with an emphasis on melodicism, dynamics and conciseness. As a result, the group has appealed to fans and non-fans of percussion music. Composer/Drummer and leader Bill Donnelly has performed in a variety of settings including Jazz, Rock, Funk, R&B, Ska and fusion. He has studied with the drumming world's "who's who," including Rod Morgenstein, David Garibaldi, Joe Morello and Gary Chester. Bill is an active private teacher and has authored articles for Creative Drummer and Modern Drummer magazines. Two full length instructional and performance books are currently in development. Bill has appeared in the New York Times for Jazz and television ads run on Bravo, A&E, TLC and The Food Network. Bill has also shared the stage with several national level artists, including Larry Carlton, Clarence Clemens, Average White Band, Toots and the Maytalls, Richie Havens, Buster Poindexter, Dave Mason and J. Geils. Soul O Drums functions as a trio group including drumset, African Djembe, Gil, Vibes, Frame Drums and a broad range of ethic global percussion. Kung Fu martial artists are available added drama and visual excitement.
