Direct Latin Influence brings you back to the traditional dance rhythms of Havana, San Juan, and Santo Domingo. Dancers love our swinging sounds and the class and sophistication of our presentation. We provide sizzling salsa, romantic boleros, and classic cha chas, as well as merengues, tangos, sambas, cumbias, bombas, mambos, and paso dobles. Our core group is a quintet, but we can also perform as a trio or with up to ten musicians. For the last six years we have been performing weekly at the prestigious Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center in NYC, and in July 2007 DLI was chosen to be a featured performer in Lincoln Center's Midsummernight Swing dance series. Our members have over 100 years experience playing with such luminaries as Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, Johnny Pacheco, Ray Baretto, Hector Lavoe, Rafael Cortijo, the Lebron Brothers, and many more. We are fully insured (both liability and worker's compensation.) Be sure to check, because many venues require this insurance. Personal attention will be given to each and every client to make sure that your event is a big success. The music of DLI will have your guests raving about your party!DISCOGRAPHY: "Direct Latin Influence" 2003 DLI Music CD 001"DLI II" 2006 DLI Music CD 002Compilations: "La la la" included in:Salsa Editors Choice Vol. 1 2008 (Switzerland)Latin Village Festival 2007 (Netherlands)Getting Hotter 2008 (England)AWARDS: Our latest CD "DLI II" was named to the "Top Ten of the Year" list by Latin Beat Magazine.
