Blues/Rock/Jam Band Guitarist, Singer, and Songwriter Alastair Greene has been a mainstay of the Southern California music scene for nearly 2 decades. He has played with a multitude of artists, the best known being Alan Parsons, Aynsley Dunbar (Journey, Frank Zappa), and Mitch Kashmar (WAR). Alastair has appeared with a host of musicians from bands such as Los Lobos, The Steve Miller Band, Crosby Stills & Nash, The Electric Flag, and The Mars Volta in bars, clubs, and on concert stages through out California.
Best known for his blues-based, soulful, and melodic guitar playing, (as well as being one of the rare breed to master slide guitar), Alastair can be heard on CDs by Alan Parsons (2006 Grammy Nominated 'A Valid Path'), Blues singer, harmonica legend, and member of WAR, Mitch Kashmar (2005 'Wake Up and Worry' on Delta Groove Records), as well as French Blues Guitarist Franck Golwasser's 2007 release 'Bluju.'
Over the last 10 years Alastair has appeared at The Santa Barbara Bowl, The House Of Blues in Hollywood, The Roxy, The Whiskey, The Mint, and B.B. Kings at Universal City Walk. In 2004, Alastair was invited to Belgium for the Spring Blues Festival with Mitch Kashmar and Franck Goldwasser. Topping off 2006 was a guest appearance with the Alan Parsons Live Project at a fundraiser at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara. Alastair was again invited onstage with Alan Parsons at Humphrey's in San Diego in June of 2007. Whether with his own band or as part of others Alastair has opened shows and shared the stage with The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Robin Trower, John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, Lonnie Brooks, and many more.
Currently, Alastair is keeping busy with his own band The Alastair Greene Band as well as many other Southern California bands. Alastair is available as a solo acoustic, duo acoustic (with singer/harmonica player), Blues Trio, or 4 piece (Harmonica/Singer)Blues band
