Sonido Ideal is the rebirth of Tipica Ideal the world recognized new york charanga band in the 70s. Gil suarez and Mike Amitin the original partners have just released Que Viva Sonido Ideal which has spanned the globe in just 2 weeks GIL is the legendary pianist and arranger composer since the late 50s playing with PACHECO Baretto Broadway you name it.His tunes have reached not only the latin charts but also the R and B charts . Mike Amitin has played with all the ny charangas a specialist in that ny style funky drive bass. he has played with Barretto and Richie Ray and teamed up with Gil when they were with Broadway in the 70s. As a composer he adds a fussion latinpop jazz element to the band check out 3 tunes on the cd the band has 8 to 10 musicians depending on venue. we have a female top vocalist for weddings and gigs where american songs are required always retaining the latin flavor .Again the cd shows our musical philosophy we are not purists and can mix it up.
