Marka's ensemble name means "People" in Quechua (the most widely native spoken language of the Americas). They have performed nationally and internationally at a large variety of events from Festivals, Museums and Universities to weddings, corporate events, churches, schools and Night Clubs. The ensemble is formed by individuals from Six different countries in all three Americas to better represent the richness of Latin American musical wealth in a harmonious and compelling way.
Marka performs a collection of songs that can be high energy or soothing in order to showcase the variety, raw power and flare of Latin American music in a fascinating amalgam of instruments, rhythms and lyrics. Traditional, Popular and folkloric Instruments and themes of Latin and South American origin are fused by the ensemble with jazz, rock, funk and western influences. Creating a musical voyage across the music of the Americas.
Marka also offers lectures, workshops, seminars, and educational presentations in various cultural themes that have been featured by hundreds of Colleges, Universities, and educational and arts institutions in Latin America and the United States.
