Tom Fortener Keyboardist from Dayton, OH

I do a variety of music from the 40's to the 70's. I have been performing since 1960. I started playing for grade school dances, and senior groups. Started a combo and played the Greater Dayton, Ohio area recreation center dances. Formed a group in 1962 called Tom and the Tempest's. We played throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana at various venues. 1963 we started Sunday afternoon dances at GBU hall. In 1964 we cut a record "It's Over Now" and "Play It Cool" which was played by local radio stations. 1965 we played at the New York World's Fair. After high school graduation, I went on the road with a drummer and played the hotel circuit in 30 states. Moved to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio when my son started school. Commuted around the Cleveland area. I was the staff organist at the Cleveland Coliseum for the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Barons. Moved back to Dayton in 1978 and joined my father in the real estate business. Tom and the Tempest's had a reunion in 1997. After that, a couple of us decided to continue. Today, I also have a 3 piece band called TEMPEST. We play the "Sounds of the 60's" Throughout my musical career, I have worked with; Brooks Benton, Bobby Goldsboro, Ray Stevens, Rufus Thomas, and Danny and the Juniors. I can customize my show with requests and trivia for your event. On breaks, I play recorded music to keep the party going. (This includes current popular line dances.) It's like having a band and a DJ. I look forward to entertaining for your event!
