About Vendor

Learn more about this vendor for your event.

Marcya Daneille offers a variety of options to suit the occasion and your budget. For more intimate events a Duo (voice/guitar or voice/piano) or Trio (voice/keys/bass) provides an elegant backdrop which will not overpower a smaller setting. Weddings or parties in larger venues might best be served by the addition of a Quartet (voice/piano/bass/drums) or a larger ensemble such as a quintet. Regardless of the band format, you have the option of choosing tunes from Marcya's extensive song list which includes a healthy offering of Jazz Standards, as well as Classic R&B, Pop and Classical favorites. Of course, Marcya will add any songs that you would like to the song list for your event. In addition to special event bookings, Marcya Daneille is available for solo concerts and weekly/monthly residencies, festival appearances and vocal workshops. Marcya Daneille has created a niche for herself as a cross-genre vocalist (Jazz, Gospel, Soul and Classical), vocal coach and band leader with with an inspiring, eclectic musical sensibility. Marcya's earliest professional opportunities as vocalist were presented while she was still in high school and she continued to sing professionally in the Chicagoland area as she completed her degree at the Chicago College of Music at Roosevelt University (currently known as the Chicago College of Performing Arts). Marcya resided in New York/ New Jersey for more than a decade. During this time she recorded and co-produced her CD "Keeping it Simple" with internationally acclaimed trombonist Wycliffe Gordon. "Keeping it Simple" was recorded at the legendary Nola Recording Studios in New York, NY by engineer/owner Jim Czak. The project, which includes a blues written by Marcya and Wycliffe ("Nosey Folks Blues"), was released on Gordon's former indie label Bluesback Records and features appearances by pianist Aaron Diehl (Wynton Marsalis, Cecile McLorin Salvant) and bassist Dezron Douglas (Cyrus Chestnut, Pharoah Sanders). As a supporting vocalist, Marcya has been blessed to be on stage with notable artists such as Laurel Masse, Wycliffe Gordon, Sachal Vasandani, Simon Estes, Vanessa Williams, BeBe Winans and Gerald Levert. Marcya has performed at New York venues such as the Apollo Theater, Alice Tully Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Ashford and Simpson's Sugar Bar, SOB's, Miller Theater at Columbia University, Crash Mansion and 5C Cafe. Midwestern appearances as a band leader include Freedom Hall, the Main Street Music Festival, the University Golf Club, Chant, Red Kiva, the Art Institute of Chicago, Charles Heath Presents: Jazzin' on the South Side, Hidden Manna Cafe and Bar, The Racine Theater, Blu in the Pfister Hotel, the Jazz Estate and Carleton College. An experienced session singer, Marcya has been featured on international House music releases with DJ Stan Courtois (France) and DJ Blacksoul (Croatia), both of which spawned numerous re-mixes.
