John Wooton & Kaiso! Steel Drum Band from Hattiesburg, MS

The instrumentation for KAISO! varies depending on what the occasion is that we are playing. For small budgets I can play as a soloist (steel drums and singing) or we can play as a duo (add piano), or trio (steel drums, bass, and drums). Generally we play as a quartet or quintet including steel drums, drum set, saxophone, guitar and bass guitar. For larger budgets such as corporate parties and dances we use several pan players, three horns, and rhythm section. The band plays a variety of styles including calypso, soca, popular American, jazz, Salsa, samba, reggae, and funk. KAISO! has performed for different venues such as festivals, parties, casinos, night clubs, wedding receptions, and formal concerts. Since the bands conception in January of 1994, KAISO! has been in high demand throughout the South. KAISO! performs instrumental sets for your listening pleasures and vocal sets that will have everyone dancing and jumping to the hottest Caribbean music in the south.
