John played at a surprise milestone birthday party for my mom. He has a kind, warm presence and plays beautifully. He set such a fun and wonderful tone for the party. Would recommend him to anyone without reservation.

I got lucky! If there were higher numbers to offer on the rating scale, you can be certain I would go with the highest star for John D'Ambrosio! Yes, all the 'basics' one would expect, but mostly, as anyone knows who is on the hiring end, it's so much more that makes someone the FIRST choice for "next time". John was professional, qualified, and personable, but mostly, he possessed an innate sense of the room where he performed - effortlessly communicating to the guests and the talent both, with the same impeccable timing as heard in his music. All while being thrust into a new environment is an art, and frankly, something to behold. 100 "stars" for John, easy.

John played music from the 1960s-1970s on our baby grand for my wife's birthday dinner with our immediate family. It was a beautiful evening and John's selection of songs was excellent. The music provided a festive atmosphere and yet we were easily able to converse during happy hour and over the multi-course dinner. He capped it off with the Birthday song and our (underwhelming) vocal accompaniment prior to cake. It was truly a lovely evening.

John was great for our wedding at the Lanam Club in Andover, Ma. He played during our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. We specifically asked for certain classical songs for our ceremony and it was no problem for him. He played a nice mix during our cocktail hour. He coordinated with the justice of the peace and the venue coordinator the week of the wedding to make sure timing was smooth during the ceremony. He was prompt and professional. No complaints! John put together a wonderful trio for our wedding and he made our day absolutely perfect! He is amazing at what he does and is extremely professional and informative. We hired him about a year prior to our event and he kept in contact with us the entire time suggesting songs and confirming the timing and placement of all the music. The music was absolutely beautiful, it complimented our venue perfectly, and it made our special day a dream come true! The next time we have a special event we won't hesitate to call John again! I couldn't have been more pleased with John's performance. He was punctual, prepared, and highly professional. He played at a volume level that worked for the party, and a wide variety of songs. John provided great background music for an important cocktail reception with MIT administration. Even though we had a Steinway grand piano in another room, he set up his own portable piano he thoughtfully brought to play music in the room where everyone actually congregated. Had he played our piano, he would have played to an empty room and our guests would never had heard him. Our guests also spilled out onto an adjacent tented lawn area and John quickly set up an external speaker to provide his music outside. He went well beyond our expectations. He was friendly with our guests and wrote a nice handwritten thank-you afterwards. He made our event a success.

John D'Ambrosio made our day joyous and magical. His talent, professionalism and kindness will never be forgotten. Our guests still talk about our musicians that day. John played on his key board for our ceremony and cocktail hour, then for our reception John was able to play on a grand piano in our reception room and had Mike Ball, a double bassist accompany him. We were so lucky to have found John as he added to the wedding of our dreams. We will never forget his kindness and talent on that perfect day :)

John was absolutely AMAZING!!!!!! Upon looking at his sample we knew he would be perfect for our vintage, gatsby style wedding. When he arrived and began playing we were both blown away. Not only did he play all the 1920's 1930's music we requested he also played all the the music from then till now! He is by far the best pianist my husband and I have ever seen play at an event. We hired John to provided music for our dad's 100th birthday party at a country club venue. He arrived on time and was pleasant, polite and professional. John was well prepared and brought a large portfolio of the type of music (1940s, Sinatra, and some traditional Italian favorites) that we had requested. He played the piano in the lounge during our cocktail hour and then brought his own electric keyboard into the dining room for the rest of the function. t. The music was perfect, and just enough to lend atmosphere but without being overwhelming. John D'Ambrosio is a consummate professional, and I would highly recommend him to anyone as well as hire him again.
