Birthday Party (Adult)•Reviewed on November 15, 2009•From New York City, NY
We had such a lovely evening. The Centennial Jazz Band communicated very well before the event. They arrived promptly and were set up in no time. Once they began to play, the energy in the room went up a notch. They were accommodating, professional, very kind AND great musicians.
They were a great addition to a wonderful evening. Thank you so much!

I hired the Centennial Jazz Band to play for my father's 87th birthday party. They did an amazing job and were a huge hit with the guests. My father is a dedicated fan of Dixieland Jazz and is very knowledgeable about that type of music. He loved the band and, at times, I saw him singing along as they played. Jerry was very professional and easy to work with. All of the band members were friendly and engaging, and interacted well with the guests during their breaks. I have never hired a live band for an event before, so I was quite nervous about how it would go. The band really elevated the event from a generic party to a special and memorable experience.

The band was very professional and just what we were looking for for my wife's surprise 50th birthday party. Jerry was very communicative, patient, and clear in his emails, so that I knew exactly what to expect leading up to the party. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to friends.

The Centennial Jazz Band was wonderful in attending to our special requests - they played a special requested song for part of the memorial and even played taps when we needed. Also, they listened to our concerns about the volume of the band in the space and played muted when needed.

I wanted Dixieland music for a party of my co-workers that would set the mood for outdoor fun and games. The band was fabulous! My event was primarily in my backyard, and all I provided for the band was folding chairs and an outlet for their mike. They arrived in plenty of time from all over the place and were ready to roll before the guests arrived. The band members were delightful people and mixed with my party people easily. All were terrific musicians. A 10!

I have known this group for years. I have always greatly enjoyed them. There is always a risk when you recommend something to a large group, as everyone has different taste in music, of course. I must say that everyone was excited about the music and their style appealed to young and old. People lingered to listen to the Band. I gave them 5 out of 5 - the highest rating.
Wedding Reception•Reviewed on November 3, 2014•From Brooklyn, NY
We loved having the Centennial Jazz Band at our wedding, and our guests raved about the amazing music. They were easy to get in touch with via phone and sent us sound clips of their music via email so we can get a sense of what to expect. They arrived on time and were set up and ready to go for the reception. The music was great, and they even sang a song with my name in it. Only minor comment would be that rather than having a set-list, they selected each song on the spot which left some awkward quiet time between each song. Would recommend them highly!

The Centennial Jazz Band was a great addition to our Ribbon Cutting Event for our new middle school. Jerry was great to work with in the days leading up to the event, and was very accommodating to our special request to play the Beatles "Imagine" even though it isn't necessarily in the Dixieland realm. They arrived promptly and were playing just as our guests arrived, adding to the excitement in the air. The band really made our event more lively and not only was the staff impressed, but the guests were loving it and were full of compliments. We would recommend the Centennial Jazz Band to anyone hosting a special event!

We had a great experience with the Centennial Jazz Band. My Dad even was able to sing a few songs with them which was a big thrill for him. They were prompt, professional, had a great sense of humor and played 2 hours of high energy dixieland music which was the highlight of our party!

The Centennial Jazz Band was terrific! They were very professional, fun to work with and put on a GREAT show! They went above and beyond going as far as purchasing new outfits and learning new songs to accommodate our many requests. I received numerous compliments from people about how amazing they were. I would highly recommend them!

Simply put, the Centennial Jazz band were an integral and crucial part of our wedding, and they were a huge hit. People danced, the music was perfect, and everybody loved them. This is an old style of music, but everybody - young and old alike - were up and dancing to this classic American music. We could not have hoped for a better time, and the guys in the band were great people to have with us for the celebration. I would recommend this band to anyone looking for great dixieland music played the way it is supposed to be played.

Funeral•Reviewed on February 10, 2011•From Monmouth Junction, NJ
Contrary to my belief, it’s not such a crazy request to book a Dixieland Band for a funeral! I was flooded with immediate responses from Gigmasters and touched by the many caring and supportive bands prepared to play on short notice.
The foot tapping and head bobbing at our funeral luncheon kept spirits high in honoring my 82-year-old father’s passing. I received many compliments on the Jerry Orleman’s Centennial Jazz Band: the quality of musicianship, their professional demeanor, and sensitivity to the family’s needs. People were even asking for the band’s business card. Jerry made the planning of details effortless.
