You will be very delighted with what we have to offer. ~ EDDY CURTIS BIOGRAPHY ~ Eddy Curtis’ roots in music began at the tender age of four, studying piano from his German-born Grandfather, Herman Doelle, who was a well-known european concert pianist and violinist. From then on, his deep appreciation and fascination for music continues. He began playing brass instruments since the age of eleven, and soon evolved a deep understanding for the art of brass playing in orchestras, symphonic wind ensembles, as well as smaller groups and combos. Before graduating from high school, his talents soon brought him opportunities to perform as a member and soloist for the Utah Symphony Orchestra, University of Utah Jazz Ensemble, and the well known Westminster College Lab Band. Eddy entered military service as a principal brass member for the 'US Army (Pershing’s Own) Band' in Washington DC. He toured throughout the US and performed for four US Presidents, countless foreign dignitaries, and international audiences. Throughout his tenure with the band, he earned a degree in jazz musical performance from the famous Berklee School of Music. Living in Europe for six years is where his “real-world” foundation in music performance truly developed. During his stay in Europe, Curtis studied and performed with jazz greats such as Leo Wright, Clarke Terry, Sonny Stitt, Johnny Griffin, Al Porcino, Maynard Ferguson, Bobby Burgess, Mel Lewis, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Dave Stall, and the like. Eddy Curtis founded his own group who he has always called Moment's Notice and has toured throughout Europe, peforming at very well know venues such as the Montreux, Munich, and the North Sea Jazz Festivals. He has studied and performed in New York City, New Jersey, Louisiana, and Texas where his influences have been nourished through various musical idioms such as Rock, Blues, Funk, Fusion, Zydeco, African, Spoken Word, and Latin genres. Moving to Asia where he lived for more than seven years, he was a brass, voice, and jazz theory instructor at the Seoul Music Conservatory and continued to perform with Moment’s Notice in South Korea, China, and Japan. This included playing more than 250 major venues per year, major recording projects, special event productions, and countless television appearances. He is the creator and founder of several music festivals, annual public events, and music clinics that continue to be held to this day. Eddy Curtis is well known as one of the hardest working, and creative individuals within the music industry and continues to be a major influence for many, to include a special talent for teaching and mentoring the youth who desire to perform music at a professional level. Eddy recently moved to western Michigan (The Left Coast), bringing his knowledge, wisdom, and experience with him. He currently tours as Moments Notice and is a hornist with the Holland and West Shore Symphony Orchestras. Eddy holds degrees from both jazz performance from The Berklee School of Music and computer science from Steven’s Henagar College. When asked about his very successful career in music, Eddy has this to say; “The most successful people don't view or measure their success as a destination, but simply as a journey." • Our Clients are Saying… “You turned our wedding reception into such a wonderful party that we will never forget!” “Your music set the perfect upbeat, festive mood, and had something special for each generation.” "Thank you for making our evening special. I would recommend your band to anyone!” “Moment’s Notice is a great group and is tailor made to create the perfect theme for a terrific event.” “This years’ Anniversary Ball is our most successful and memorable one, primarily due to the many talents and versatility of Moment’s Notice.” “Eddy, Thanks for making our Sunday Brunches such a tremendous success." “When and where are you scheduled to play again?
