?Dewdrop Society is the ultimate 1920s and 1930s jazz age band. Authentic hot jazz, swing, charleston, roaring society, barrel house, antique ballads, along with raucous New Orleans tunes, Harlem big band, and tin pan alley music for your soiree. Think swanky Gatsby with a Boardwalk Empire edge! (and some Downton Abbey class without all the drama!) That Dewdrop sound is inspired by the music of Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, Ruth Etting, Bing Crosby, Mills Brothers, the Boswell Sisters, and all the fanciful music of a century ago. Available for weddings, dances, cocktail hours, speakeasy gatherings, burlesque shows, Gatsby garden parties, and any event requiring real, true to life hot hot hot jazz.
Dewdrop Society has taken the party and wedding industry by storm! Recent highlights include playing for 1000 guests at the 2014 SUPERBOWL party hosted by the New York Giants, performing for Brooklyn's largest Kentucky Derby Party, headlining the annual Roaring 20s night under the stars for thousands at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and a marvelous evening of non stop partying (by the guests) at the Ritz in Miami - just to name a few.
The band is a collective of musicians & leaders from the top New York City jazz era ensembles that's hitting on all sixes. The band can be made up of any instrumentation starting with guitar/banjo or piano with upright bass, then adding on with sax, drums, trumpet, trombone, and vocals.
"Simply perfect band! Definitely the best choice of the 1920s jazz bands, and we looked at all of them. Professional and fantastic musicians. Highly recommended." RM, wedding, February 2013
"Had them for cocktail hour. Wish I hired them to play dinner too! Our DJ was great but we should have had the band for a little longer because they were so much fun! Thank You, you really made things special for everyone in attendance." Anna G, cocktail hour Amagansett, NY January 2013
"Hired them for our wedding reception, full 8 piece band. What a fun group! Great song selection, started the dancing during dinner which we didn't expect (had DJ playing 80s & motown after band). definitely worth every penny. Run, don't walk to get this band! And they looked really great too." Ritchie A, wedding, Brooklyn, NY February 2013
