Ciara released her debut album CIARA ADAMS- Live at Le Select Bistro in early 2005. It is an eclectic live jazz record recorded at the 2004 Toronto International Jazz Festival. The record has put her on the map and made its way onto international charts around the world, from Japan to Portugal definitely making her on e to watch! Her sultry tones mix effortlessly with clean clear notes that leave the listener wanting more, more, more! Her debut CD offers a range of selections from jazz standards like Summertime, to Kurt Weill's Surabaya Johnny, to Jacques Brel's Ne me quitte pas, to the more contemporary Paul Weller song Wild Wood, and even some of her own original songs like the much loved Orchard, a top seller on itunes.
Born in Canada, to Irish parents, Ciara moved to London, England, after graduating from Queens University to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After graduating she stayed in the U.K. and worked extensively as a singer, actor, director, and composer working at/with The Royal National Theatre, The Royal Shakespeare Company, The Royal Opera House, and Northern Stage. In 2002 she returned to Canada and while continuing her acting career, Ciara embarked more seriously on a music career with a focus in jazz. In the past few years she has performed at numerous galas among them See you in Athens (Canadian Olympic Team Gala), Silence is Violence (Amnesty International Gala), The Quilt (Breast Cancer Fundraiser- Casa Loma), as well as performing in and around Toronto at clubs like the Montreal Bistro, at Jazz Festivals (recording her debut album at the International Toronto Jazz Festival), exclusive private functions for clients such as Jeffry Roick proprietor of THE CARLU, and at Wineries in the Niagara Region. She has simultaneously been forged a strong career as an actor, winning a 2004 Dora Mavor Award with New York based company bluemouth inc. and she will be appeared in the Mirvish Production of e-DENTITY at The Royal Alex in the 2007. She is currently completing her debut studio CD!
