The John Allen Watts Brazilian Trio is honored and thrilled to be the recipient of a Gigmasters "Best of 2016" Award. More importantly, I am personally committed to working with you to make sure that your expectations are met or exceeded in every way.
Our trio loves to share this repertoire with audiences and guests. We want to woo you with the beautiful romantic Brazilian melodies so beloved throughout the world and wow you with the passionate and body-swaying rhythms of Brazil as well.
Our repertoire highlights the extraordinary composers of Brazil from the MPB period: Antonio Carlos Jobim, João Donato, Djavan, Baden Powell, Vínicius de Moraes and many others, as well as the earlier traditional Choro masters (Pixighuinha, Jacob de Bandolim etc.). Because of our diverse musical and cultural backgrounds, our sound blends additional influences into this music - including western classical music, traditional jazz, blues, r&b, and world music.

We had the John Allen Watts Trio and Debora Watts, a wonderful Brazilian singer, perform for our cocktail hour. They were going to also perform the processional during our wedding ceremony, but it sadly rained just before, and it being an outdoor wedding, they could not safely perform with instruments on the wet ground. Their performance for our cocktail hour was spectacular and exactly what we were hoping for. I chose the songs I wanted them to play from Debora's repertoire and they even learned a few songs that I specifically requested. They were professional, well-dressed, and on time. We could not have been happier to have them at our wedding.
