"West Coast Cool" is a musical venture into the "Cool Vocal" sound of the 1940's - 1960's. This sound was made famous by such west coast figures as Stan Kenton, June Christy, Chris Connor, Dave Pell, Les Brown, Peggy Lee, Beverly Kenny and others. French jazz singer Laure Zaehringer, brings the vocals to life with a wonderful seven piece band of the best studio jazz players in Los Angeles. They perform in the style of original arrangements of Marty Paich, Pete Rugolo, Bill Holman, Billy May, Nelson Riddle, John Williams, Shorty Rogers, and many others that gave the "West Coast Cool" its' style.
As a French jazz singer, Laure also offers a full evening of classic French Chansons with various sized ensembles from a guitar duet to full symphony orchestra. Laure Z can also add more contemporary compositions and arrangements to give a modern custom feel to any show or event.
The side men and women of "West Coast Cool" have performed with Barbra Streisand, Liza Minelli, Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughn, Cannonball Addery, Ella Fitzgerald, James Taylor, Peter Gabriel, Clark Terry, Lionel Hampton, Enya, Lady GaGa, Sting, John Denver, Shirley Bassey, Andy Williams, Frank Stallone, John Williams, Leonard Bernstein, Peter Nero, Etta James and many, many more. Under music coordinator Brian Cassier and music director Jonathan Hughes, "West Coast Cool" will produce a custom tailored show of the highest standard possible. This is not just "a band" but a highly produced show from top to bottom, and again custom designed for the client and their needs.
Former clients of Brian Cassier as music coordinator have included: ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, Enterprise Rent a Car, Hilton Hotels, Marriott Hotels, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, Sony, Macy's, Turner, IBM, BBC, BMW, Morgan Stanley and many others.
"Leading off with Christy's most well-known number, "Something Cool", Zaehringer demonstrated that she was right at home with the West Coast Cool sound. Her jazz chops and scatting ability were highlighted in her rendition of "How High the Moon." She departed from the Christy song catalogue to take over at the piano to singer her original song "007". Laure Zaehringer is a wonderfully talented singer/songwriter/pianist who is a welcome addition to the L.A. scene."

"Brian Cassier worked closely with our club and the entertainment committee to make sure every detail was perfect. He was there on the event day from load-in until load - out and never missed a step. I cannot recommend him highly enough"
