Well hey there. I'm Jill.
I have a passion for jazz, oldies, folk, and the occasional pop song. I perform at weddings, birthday parties, corporate events, and then some! If you have an unusual event, I'd love to hear about it and perform for your guests. I can perform solo, with our duo, or bring a larger band for your party. If you can imagine it, we can make it happen.
I'm originally from Southern California, but I attended school in New York at Sarah Lawrence College. There I studied musical theatre, voice, and writing, and decided that singing and songwriting are my true passions! I lived in New York for about six years and spent three of those years singing all over New York City. NYC is also where I met Gordon (my partner in music/ life), and very quickly we started playing music together. Now I've brought him back to California and we are ready for the sunny adventures we know this state will bring!
Check out some of my original music on iTunes and Spotify. My debut album (titled "Sweet & Sour") was recorded last year (2016)!
If you hire me, you can expect punctuality, professionalism, and a good spirit. My band and I can adapt to any room, mood, occasion, or event. Whether it be jazz at a soft-spoken dinner party or bluegrass at your rambunctious birthday fiesta, we can do it all. I always put hours of time into crafting the perfect setlist for your event based on who you are, what music you like, where the event will be, and who will attend. I understand that when planning a party, you have a lot on your plate, so once you book me you won't need to worry about the music. I will communicate as much or as little as you need :)
I can bring in more musicians for a fuller sound. If you'd like upright bass, piano, guitar, percussion, or horns, let me know and I can bring a band! Perfect for weddings and dancing!!
If you book me for a kid's party, you can expect a lot of funny faces and sing-a-longs to songs they all know, such as "You Are My Sunshine" and "Do Re Mi" from The Sound of Music.
I also have a few instruments and shakers the kids can use, so they can participate in the music making.
If you have a genre in mind, tell me what types of songs you want to hear most and I will accommodate . I'm also happy to come prepared with a set list I think will work best for the event, if you are unsure!
