The Boom Jazz Quartet is a modern jazz band in Toronto. Combining musicians with a wealth of experience, Boom Jazz Quartet provide a sense of excitement with organic live energy, and an undeniable swing. They combine a throwback sound to the days of bop with a 21st century edge. BJQ consists of Dale Scaife on piano, Jeff Skrypek on guitar, Vinnie Venkov on bass and John Collin on drums, and specialize in a wide array of jazz standards including latin, bebop, swing, and fusion, playing standards from Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane and many other giants of Jazz. If a client hires the Boom Jazz Quartet they can tailor the gig to their preference, as we are ready to play any and all jazz, but really specialize in the Golden Era of 50's and 60's jazz.
