Jarod Kashkin Pianist from New York City, NY

Growing up in a musical family, Jarod began studying classical piano under his grandmother at age 4. His father, also a pianist, would expose him regularly to musical theatre performances and club dates he often played. By age 12 Jarod was the pianist for his public school's choirs and bands, and was accepted into the Manhattan School of Music Prep Division. Desiring to expand his understanding of music Jarod transitioned to Jazz and continued his studies at The New School. Learning from wonderful pianists such as Garry Dial, Joanne Brackeen, Rachel Z, Armen Donelian, Hal Galper, & Junior Mance to name a few, he began really developing his ears, his musicianship, and his practice techniques. Through musical relationships formed while in school, Jarod was honored to participate in performances, recordings and tours with Reggie Workman, Charlie Persip, Billy Harper, Jason Marsalis, Christian McBride, Jeff Ballard, & Roy Hargrove among others. He has had the pleasure of performing at venues such as Avery Fisher Hall, The Plaza Hotel, The Blue Note, Birdland, The Iridium, Smoke, and many other notable concert and performance venues in New York, the US, Europe, & Asia. Jarod has an extensive repertoire in Jazz, Contemporary Pop, and Classics. He creates a romantic, uplifting mood for any party or event he performs for.
