OBJECTIVE: to continue working on interesting music performance projects. QUALIFICATIONS: *Professional latin / jazz keyboard entertainer and dinner music / cocktail pianist. Over 30 years of pro experience in the Washington, DC area. EDUCATION: *Master of Music degree (concentration in music composition) – Catholic University of America, Washington, DC. *Bachelor of Science degree (concentration in music education) – Indiana State Teachers College, Indiana, PA. (Indiana University of Pennsylvania). EMPLOYMENT: *Musician / Instrumentalist. Past member of the American Federation of Musicians locals 161, 770 & 389. Music performance includes: U.S. army bandsman– club dates – steady location work at hotels, restaurants, and solo pianist for Carnival Cruise line cruising from Florida to the Bahamas. In my shows and dance gigs, I play "jazz standards" using backing tracks that people like and relate to (hiphop, salsa, disco cha cha, jazzy funk, etc.). Also, I have an assortment of the latest dance music mp3s (electronic, house, gangnam style, techno) stored in the keyboard, which I can present similar to the way a DJ works. The equipment I'm currently using is a state-of-the-art KORG pa900 keyboard with great sounds and an on board voice processor which adds automatically-generated harmonies to the voice. When working large rooms or out-side I use my portable 300-watt Peavey PA system which has a small powered mixer and two 10 inch speakers with speaker stands.
