Are you thinking about hiring a jazz group for your event, but budget limitations are holding you back? Sam Graham has the answer. I am the guitarist, vocalist, and leader of the Sam Graham Trio, an established act at Gigmasters - currently ranked #1 among all jazz trios in the state of California, the Trio was the recipient of Gigmasters' 2010 Rising Star Award, and has booked over 75 gigs through the site, including both public and private events (such as weddings, private parties, corporate gatherings, and so on), with enthusiastic responses from scores of satisfied clients. (See bottom of this page for a link to our Trio page.) Because I recognize that some clients may not have the budget, the space, or other elements needed to book a full band, I also perform solo. But this is "solo" with a difference, as I am accompanied by a "band in a box" - i.e., a full rhythm section (piano, acoustic bass, and drums) on dozens of pre-recorded tracks to accompany my guitar and voice. These are not cheesy, obviously fake tracks, but remarkably full-sounding instruments playing engaging, imaginative arrangements of a wide variety of jazz songs: classic and traditional, vocal and instrumental, ballads and bossa novas, even surprising versions of rock songs by Steely Dan, the Doors, the Beatles, and others. Of course, a solo performer costs considerably less, and takes up much less room, than a band of any size.
