Hi, there! My name is Dan Searl. I have been playing guitar for over a decade. In 2013, I graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA with a degree in Music Performance. I play and perform music because it provides me with a medium by which I can connect with others and express myself greater than any other medium of art or communication. The world of music is wonderful in the sense that people seek out and enjoy listening to people who have something to say lyrically or melodically.
I book gigs of all different types. I can play Jazz, Classical, Latin, South American/Ecuadorian, Folk or any style of solo guitar. I also play pop hits and 90's hits as instrumentals, and I sing as well. I am flexible and very up for working with you to get the music better than you envisioned it! If you are interested in booking a larger ensemble I book events for my band, The Dan Searl Group, as well.
"Dan really made our day special with his beautiful guitar playing. Our wedding ceremony was absolutely perfect because of the mood his music set. I would hire him again in a second!"
- Jamie Sokolowski (Newburyport, MA)
"I was so pleased with Dan's professionalism and willingness to work with us on the music for our private event. He is such a great musician and person. Do yourself a favor and hire him. You wont regret it."
- Katie Farlow (York, ME)
"As an avid classical and jazz listener, I must say that Dan's playing is exquisite. He is a amazing musician that I would recommend to anyone for events or private concerts. His ability to interpret any musical style is extraordinary."
- Paul Richardson (Boston, MA)
"The guy's been in town, what, a couple months, but he's all over the place already: Teaching guitar at The Musical Suite and up the road a bit, at the Leddy Center; burning up the frets with The Altered Trio, his acoustic jazz combo, which includes fellow Musical Suite instructor Andrew Dow, at Tannery Performs, the summer series that showcased the talent at the hip, arty mall. He did a solo acoustic thing in Market Square at Yankee Homecoming. And he's just brought out a new album with his other band, a quartet, at Lilypad in Cambridge last month. You just never know where's he's going to turn up, like at Ten Center, where he was sitting in with the Phil McGowan Trio during its Wednesday-night jazz sessions. "
- John Lockwood - Newburyport Current
