Kate and Jenny Jazz Duo Jazz Duo from Denver, CO

Kate Hamilton and Jenny Posnak have been performing together throughout the United States and Europe for three years. They uniquely and tastefully play tunes from the American Song Book, classic jazz standards, covers, and originals. Jenny Posnak is an accomplished jazz and classical musician, teacher and composer. She has taught theory and piano skills at the University of Miami Piano Preparatory Program, and was a piano accompanist for operatic vocalists in the Kenyon College Music Department in Gambier, Ohio. She also provided music lessons at Head Start Early Education Centers, where she developed her passion for working with young children and beginners. While living in Washington, D.C., Ms. Posnak apprenticed at the Young Women's Drumming Empowerment Project (YWDEP), teaching African drumming and leadership skills. In 2015, Jenny was a composer at The Art Monastery project, a two month artistic residency in Caramanico Terme, Italy. Kate Hamilton is a singer, theater artist, producer and composer. Her co-composition with Nick Lerangis and Knud Adams, The Highwayman, received a Cap 21 Writer's Residency and performance at Ars Nova's ANT Fest in 2014. Erosion is an album created with Loom Ensemble, a group Kate has produced theater with in Dubai and Italy. Kate is a founder and Artistic Associate of Calliope Theatre Company, an ensemble that creates work inspired by literature and poetry organically through long-form improvisation. Her performance credits include- New York: Songs of Ascension (BAM dir. Meredith Monk),Discovery Show (Lincoln Center Jazz), Stop the Virgens (St. Ann's Warehouse), Ghost Life (Playwrights Horizons Resident Workshop), Tamar and the River (New World Stages), Erosion: A Fable (La Mama), Ghost LIie (Playwright's Horizons Resident Workshop). Regional: Far From Heaven (Williamstown Theatre Festival), The Boyfriend (Princeton Music Festival) and lead solo work with five orchestras throughout the US and internationaly: Say I Am You (The Jamjar, Dubai), Si Quis Sitit (Art Monastery Project, Italy).
