The duo of Ebacher & Hyde may be a relatively new addition to the Gigmasters talent base, but the association of Roger Ebacher & John Hyde is anything but new. The current Ebacher & Hyde is more of a happy reunion of two talented friends who have been making high quality creative music together off and on for decades. As rendered by multi-instrumentalist Roger Ebacher and keyboardist John Hyde, the art of the duo, arguably the most demanding conversation for musicians, is made as easy as a casual chat over coffee.

Roger & John's musical connection goes deep and wide, with roots going back to the 80's, when they began making waves right away in Boston's Northshore music scene. Their first recording, the Ebacher penned “Why Do I?”, was quickly picked up by Grammy winning producer Scott Billington and covered by the legendary New Orleans vocalist Johnny Adams. From there, Ebacher & Hyde gained momentum, their visibility heightened by a radio interview and a week long gig as the house band for a television special with Ebacher's theater colleague, TV host Tom Bergeron. From that time onward, Roger & John have collaborated frequently, in ensembles large and small, maintaining the ability to make genuinely great music almost effortlessly.

The current incarnation of Ebacher & Hyde is enriched by the years of experience Roger & John have acquired both separately and together. John Hyde has found himself an in-demand accompanist, arranger and pianist from New York to New Orleans for major artists such as Bobby Hebb, Maria Muldaur, and Whoopie Goldberg. Ebacher's reputation has evolved beyond that of just a captivating vocalist and consummate flutist to that of a gifted multi-instrumentalist and composer. His ever growing discography has led to full length interviews on WGBH-FM 89.7 with iconic jazz radio host Eric Jackson, and the inclusion of his original Latin Jazz material on three international Latin music compilations.

Ebacher & Hyde today offers this extensive background of experience to bring you an absolutely unique, intimate, and accessible blend of live music for music lovers. Roger's lead instrument, the Melody Flute, always wows the crowd, and he's the only guy in the world brave and accomplished enough to make it work in a professional setting. John, already having made a career as a superb jazz keyboardist, has augmented his skills to become a true voice on the accordion, making it his go-to instrument with Ebacher & Hyde. Roger & John both play keyboards, and Roger can also be heard on yet another instrument you're unlikely to hear anywhere else, the Casio DH-100 Digital Horn. Together, these two musicians create a rich sound more like an ensemble than merely a great duo.

The music of Ebacher & Hyde is rich with the melody and harmony of Brasil, Cuba, Argentina, Eastern Europe, and Latin Jazz. With cover material from Jobim to Sting, and original compositions from Ebacher's discography, they offer you music that is exquisitely played and heartfelt. If you are reading this introduction, it's a given that you are looking for something a cut above the norm. Treat yourself and your guests to something truly special, with the music of Ebacher & Hyde!
