Edward "Butch" Warren began performing with his bass violin in DC in 1957, with a band named 3 Kings and a Queen. Throughout his career, he has recorded 35 CD's under the label Blue Note Records. Two of his most well-known recordings were in 1962 and 1967 ("Watermelon Men"), which he recorded with Herbie Hancock. Most recently, he has been performing in small venues in DC with a 5-member band(piano, sax, drummer, bass (himself) and a female vocalist.
