STYLE: Soulful Jazz, Vintage pop, Latin melodies. Kelsey Jillette brings a cool swing and a soulful, enchanting vibe to Jazz standards, Latin tunes and funky 70's pop. Easy to work with, experienced and professional, her music spans genres and is consistently elegant, danceable and made for dancers and audiophiles alike. Her combos range from duo up to ten-piece big band. Jillette has performed at countless private events as well as The Plaza (residency), Hotel Plaza Athenee (residency), The Pierre, Sardi's, The Standard Hotel, The Waldorf Astoria, The 55 Bar (residency), The River Cafe, MoMA, Gramercy Park Hotel, Remi Room, Del Posto, Swing 46 (residency), Carnegie Club, World Yacht and MBar at the Mansfield Hotel, to name a few. "Thank you! Everything was great – the mother of the bride said told me “hiring this band was the BEST decision you forced me into”. She was CRAZY for you guys and she said so were all her guests." -Jeannie "I'd like to say that working with the Kelsey Jillette Jazz group was nothing less than a pleasure... The Kelsey Jillette Jazz Group, arrived on time, professionally set-up, and worked with us to make sure the event went as we dreamed...Everything about this experience was a pleasure." -Brandi Now for the music: Looking for Soulful Jazz and Vintage R&B? Kelsey and The Lovesome perform favorites from the 40's to the 70's in a classic, effervescent style. Anchored by the lush vocals of Kelsey Jillette, the group plays familiar songs in a romantic, danceable, and engaging style that will delight your guests. With a repertoire of songs made famous by Ray Charles, Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley, Etta James, and Frank Sinatra (to name but a few), The Lovesome provides hours of charming, sparkling music to your party. Upscale, compact, always tasteful, The Lovesome 's size is flexible and can be customized to your event. Whether duo, trio, quartet, or quintet, Kelsey and The Lovesome will add distinction and elegance to your party. Thinking bigger? Kelsey fronts a 10-piece classic big band, The Big Bang Big Band, whose swing lights up the dance floor. We play big band swing - think Ellington, Fletcher Henderson, Count Basie- with sensitive dynamics that can fit just about any room. Considering music in Spanish and Portuguese? Co-led by Tony Romano and Kelsey Jillette, The Americas Project performs beautiful genre-melding North and South American folk music with their percussion-based quartet. With cajon and wonderful assorted percussion, upright bass, nylon-string guitar and vocals, Jillette's Latin-based combo plays music that's groovesome and melodious. Come see us monthly at the famed 55 Bar in Greenwich Village! Something more contemporary, loungy and funky? Jillette's jazz-infused folk-pop and funk band is called The Kelsey Jillette Group. With organ, drums and guitar, they play a mix of standards and funky, soulful 70's and 80's pop. A few more quotes: "Dear Kelsey... Thank you for a terrific job at our wedding. You performed exactly as we expected and hoped for. We received many compliments on our choice of band and music. You helped us create exactly the wedding we envisioned and we truly appreciate it. Thanks and best wishes for everything. Sincerely, Sheryl and Anton" "I only wish I had a couple more daughters to marry so your group could play for the weddings! We most thoroughly enjoyed the music... Everyone had at least one dance if not many - no wall flowers at this party - and I'm still hearing comments about the great band." -father of the bride, Sardi's wedding "You and your band were outstanding. Everyone has been talking about you guys since the wedding. Rachel and I will definitely be checking out your shows in the near future." -Billy "Everything was great. We are extremely happy with our selection of the Big Bang Big Band. And we received many compliments from our guests on the band and the music. They were definitely a big hit! Thx again, Cheryl" "[Jillette] owns some well-honed pipes and the emotive powers to use them effectively...Together, vocalist and musicians creatively transform historic material into an engaging modern mode. This is what playing the standards should be all about." - Walter Kolosky (reviewing Hot House/What is...?) "Your singing is wonderful! Absolutely! Unique, lyrical, individual. Believe you're the best female vocalist I've heard in a long time. " - Norm Weinstein, winner of Deems Taylor-ASCAP award for jazz journalism, currently covers jazz for The Christian Science Monitor "What a pleasure it is to hear the talented jazz vocalist Kelsey Jillette...an intriguing voice...breathy, yet has a deepness at the same time...a cool emphatic manner that compels you to listen to every word. The Kelsey Jillette Group is the real deal. You need to give them a listen." - Walter Kolosky (reviewing Turn out the Stars)

Private PartyReviewed on October 3, 2013From Brooklyn, NY

Kelsey is amazing! She is a wonderful singer and my guests were all asking me where I found her. Besides singing the standards, she also sang bossa nova tunes and even a few pop songs. Her voice is really beautiful and it was such a treat to hear music performed live at this level. I will definitely hire her again next time I am planning a party! Thank you, Kelsey! You made the party extra special!
