Terry Tuck is a Nu-Jazz/Smooth Jazz bassist quickly emerging as the Detroit area's newest lead jazz bassists. He and his 8 member band "Desert Wind" offer an energetic style of jazz that keeps the listeners engaged with the music and their toes tapping. His band blends together the flavors of smooth, Latin, fusion, and Nu-Jazz as well as beautiful R&B/Neo-Soul styled vocals from its female lead singer.
Collectively these band members have a long history in professional music having worked with artists, producers and arrangers such as: Kem, Chapter 8 (featuring Anita Baker), The Dramatics, Don Davis (The Matrix) Blackfoot, arrangers Johnny Allen and Dave J. Van De Pitte, musician and current president of Blue Note records Don Was, band members Sir Harry Bowens and Hillard “Sweet Pea” Atkinson (Was Not Was), Kashif Saleem, session guitarist Bruce Nazarian, and Eddie Kendricks (Temptations), just to name a few.
Terry Tuck and Desert Wind are the perfect choice for music festivals and private events including political and fundraising. Additionally this group of musicians donate their time and skills to charitable events that support the community. They are an extremely versatile group able to play any style of music upon special request.
