Kyla Quinn and her Boyfriends embody the essence of vintage jazz especially in the style of Billie Holiday. They portray the American Songbook in an intimate and emotional fashion that will intrigue audiences. Kyla's warm singing tone, sensitivity, and power balances beautifully with the Boyfriends swinging and be-bop playing nature which always calls for a spectacular time where ever they play! Kyla and the Boyfriends met in the Brooklyn jazz jam scene and have been playing with each other ever since. They are creative with their song arrangements and always bring something new that is their own to the classic standards we all love. They have played in NYC at The Standard Hotel, The Nomad Hotel, The Flatiron Room, The Bathtub Gin, Sophia's Restaurant, BB King's Blues Club, and many more. Kyla, also performed with the grammy awarding winning swing band "Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks" which features on the show of Boardwalk Empire. The number of players you desire is flexible starting from 2 players and expanding to 7-8 adding saxophone and piano. We are open to song requests (either jazz or pop) ahead of time. My wife and I worked with Kyla ahead of time to develop the set list and coordinate their performance at our wedding. She was always prompt in responding to our messages, open minded with our song requests, and flexible with the specific constraints of our venue. Most importantly, though, they played a tight and beautiful set. Their renditions of jazz standards and selected covers was spot on and Kyla's performance as a vocalist exceeded our high expectations. Hearing them play our favorite songs so beautifully as we walked down the aisle was one of the highlights of our wedding day, and they created a wonderful ambiance during the cocktail hour and reception.
