The Blue-Hots Jazz Band from Pittsburgh, PA

The Blue-Hots are a lively 7-piece "exotica" band that features a vocal trio, and is accompanied by piano, guitar, bass, and two percussionists. We focus on the mid 20th century pop, blues, jazz, and r&b music, but also play more current music. Listeners describe us as a mix between 1960s "Mad Men" style, the Manhattan Transfer, Brazilian pop, and classic American standards. As one contributing critic to Variety, John Bender, put it: "Carey Evans and Reni Monteverdi have a sympatico. It looks like they were born to sing together. And Monteverde is captivating; if you're in the audience you can't take your eyes off her. The Blue-Hots really are special; something new, something different, and they know it."
