Celtic Law Irish Band from Quincy, MA

Celtic Law is a traditional Irish Folk Band. Father and son duo, Al and Brendan Gavaghan, have been playing together for well over 10 years, but the name Celtic Law was only formally introduced two years ago- very appropriately on Saint Patrick's Day! Al, a native South Bostonian played in the 70s and 80s in a well known Irish band named The Last Hurrah. The band played in many Pubs from Boston to Cape Cod. Al plays guitar, mandolin and sings lead vocals. Brendan has been playing the Irish Button Accordion since age five and has competed in the All Ireland Fleath. He is a versatile and talented musician contributing to the full sound of Celtic Law. Brendan plays the Irish Button Accordion, guitar, mandolin, Bouzouki and provides backup vocal on most songs. Brendan attended Berklee School of Music in Boston and SAE in New York City. He is a trained sound and recording engineer. When not playing with his father, Brendan has another group Bottles of Sorrow, an alternative rock bandthat plays in many local clubs in the Boston area. Celtic Law is available for events throughout the Boston area, but the band is willing to travel up to 15 miles for special events. Most recently, Celtic Law has performed at a number of political functions in Boston, several private parties (birthdays, anniversaries), and at local pubs such as JP Ryan's in Abington, MA and Mr Dooley's in Wrentham, MA. There is an old Irish saying “Our hearts' and hearth are warm and our friendship is free so come along with us.” So raise your glass- we assure you of a good time with Celtic Law!
