Linda Orcutt…a work in progress. That phrase best describes Linda's life journey through rough beginnings, a broken home, family member's alcoholism and drug addiction, despair, hopelessness and death to recovery, perseverance, success, love and life through the resounding, lasting hope and promise found only in our Lord Jesus Christ.
A native Minnesotan, Linda left the “Land of 10,000 Lakes,” to live and work throughout the United States in Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, Tennessee, Atlanta and Dallas, Texas, returning to Minnesota in 2010. What began as a reluctant member of the Math Club at High School became a life-long career. With scholarships for nursing school, fear and poor choices led Linda to a Greyhound Bus ride to Chicago with three dresses, curlers and $38 dollars in her purse and life changing decisions that affected her and those she loved profoundly. Feeling unworthy, she closed the door on God's love.
Linda launched her career anchored in the world of Information Processing, loving computers before “computers were cool.” From IT and Telecommunication infrastructure specialization and project management in healthcare and financial vertical markets, Linda worked for top corporations in the IT and Telecommunications industry and served as a client advocate in IT consulting. A fascination with computer animation and computer based training led to marketing and graphic design. Still a passion today, Linda has combined the best of two worlds into Orcutt Designs, LLC, specializing in web and graphic design. Linda has survived the death of her first husband through brain cancer and walked through survival with her husband Jim's cancer. She shares her story of loss and reconciliation. Linda's story has been marked with external secular success in the business world and with internal spiritual destruction personally, walking through much of her life without putting God first. Returning to her love of God after literally, forty years in the wilderness, she still struggled with accepting Jesus. But God kept knocking on her door, and in 2009, Linda opened her heart and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. 1 Corinthians 5:17 “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”.
Today, Linda's life is filled with the joy only The Lord can provide, a loving husband who shared Jesus and brought her to Christ, her daughter, returned after 45 years, and two adorable grandchildren. Linda relates her story of miracles and grace in an entertaining and inspiring manner, leaving her listeners filled with hope.
