Cedar & Boyer was birthed out of a small town in rural North Idaho and is the collaboration between hetero-life partners, Justin and Jen Landis. The sound is an ever-shifting combination of bass, electric guitar sounds, percussion, and whatever or whomever else is inspiring the band in the moment. The songs are melodically earnest and serve as the anchor for the band's relentless experimentation.
Justin has been writing, recording and performing music for nearly 2 decades. He regularly collaborates with several artists and bands including Marshall McLean Band, Josh Hedlund and Tennis. He has shared the stage with artists including Avett Brothers, Vintage Trouble, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Keb Mo and Sharon Little.
Jen Landis began her musical career as a drummer for red WELL red. When they disbanded, she decided to teach herself to play the bass. She has developed a smooth, melodic style, which is the backbone for Cedar & Boyer's songs. She also collaborates with Harold's IGA, and Mama Doll.
Cedar & Boyer has played throughout the Northwest and down the west coast. During their Family Van Tour, they stopped by Studio Paradiso in San Francisco, CA, and recorded 4 songs for the popular music site, Daytrotter. They have played with several amazing regional and national acts including Terrible Buttons, Andy Fitts, Chris Staples, Bart Budwig, & Yet, and the overdubs.
