If he can do that with hypnosis, what else can he do?? Rick will always be available after the show for comments about the show and to answer questions about hypnosis.
Rick recommends a minimum audience of 30 people for a good show, though a smaller group is possible in certain cases.
He also enjoys doing fund raising and non-profit events and has special arrangements for these.
Rick is a Certified Hypnotherapist with the National Guild of Hypnotists, and International Association of Medical and Dental Hypnotherapists. He also has a private practice where he helps clients achieve their goals of health and happiness.
STOP!!! DO YOU KNOW WHAT TO ASK YOUR HYPNOTIST BEFORE YOU HIRE THEM?
Certified Hypnotherapist and Comedy Hypnotist, Rick Longstreth, has some very important questions you MUST know the answers to before you hire any hypnotist.
1. IS YOUR ENTERTAINER INSURED & CERTIFIED?
Although Rick has never had any kind of "incident" during any of his performances, he is fully insured ($3 million liability) because many clients simply want that peace of mind. He is also a Certified Hypnotherapist through the National Guild of Hypnotist and the International Association of Medical and Dental Hypnotherapists, which means he has the proper training to guarantee your group a safe, enjoyable event.
IMPORTANT: Stay away from ANY hypnotist who has pictures of hypnotized subjects balanced with their head and feet on two chairs, with their bodies unsupported. This is EXTREMELY dangerous for the volunteer. Any hypnotist doing this is looking for the "wow" factor without concern about the volunteers' safety and wellbeing.
2. IS YOUR ENTERTAINER AGE AND ATMOSPHERE APPROPRIATE?
Is your entertainer going to do something inappropriate, use foul language or give you any other reasons to regret your decision? You simply can NOT afford to risk it. Many other hypnotists make a big deal out of all the comedy clubs they've worked. Think about what you see in these types of clubs and ask if THIS is the kind of humor you want for your event. The majority of Ricks' programs are PG13 rated, based on the requests of the hiring client.
3. IS THE PERSON BIDDING ON THE EVENT GOING TO BE THE ONE DOING YOUR EVENT?
Are you talking with one person, but that person has booked multiple shows for the same date. So when it comes time for your event someone different shows up? Be sure to check the GigMaster feedback to ensure that the performer you are looking to hire doesn't have a history of having someone other than them show up to do the shows they have been hired for. Rick has a policy of first person to sign the contract and pay their deposit books their event. Rick may very well be talking with several other interested parties for the same date. But once a contract is signed and deposit paid, that's it. He will let all other interested parties know that he is booked. Rick may be able to suggest other qualified and trustworthy hypnotists, but that will be between them to work out.
4. IS YOUR ENTERTAINER EASY TO WORK WITH OR ARE THEY FULL OF THEMSELVES?
So many entertainers want the "I'm a Star Treatment.' They want special this and special that… A good Hypnotist should be able to do a show without much more than a good sound system. Some things do lend to a better show, like good lighting, and a raised stage is always nice for the viewing audience. But these things are not required. Rick has his own audio equipment to use if the venue doesn't have a quality system in place. This is usually available at no extra charge. Rick knows he'll be the easiest performer you have, or ever will work with. He is very good at adapting to different situation and set ups, to make sure the event goes off wonderfully!
5. DOES YOUR ENTERTAINER OFFER A VARIETY OF SHOW OPTIONS, AND ARE THEY ABLE TO ADAPT MID SHOW?
Many entertainers only offer one act and nothing else. As you know, no one act can be right for every situation! Therefore, Rick has over 150 different skit options, as well as having the ability to adjust and adapt during the show-Based on the volunteers and audience. Most hypnotists have the show planned prior to the show even starting. This can mean that the show has a good possibility of going bad.
6. WILL YOUR HYPNOTIST EMBARRASS YOUR GUESTS?
Is your hypnotist going to make your guests do all sorts of silly things or is this person going to direct bad humor at them? Rick has found this happens with a lot of other hypnotists. This is one of the reasons Rick got into the comedy hypnosis business. He saw so many bad shows and wanted to show the world what a good show looked like. The goal of the show is to never embarrass anyone. In fact, during his programs, your guests will actually be empowered and inspired. The volunteers are always the stars of the show, not the hypnotist! I always want the guests that volunteered, and those that didn't, to leave thinking "Wow, if their mind can do that, what can my mind do?"
7. WILL YOUR HYPNOTIST BE VIDEO RECORDING YOUR EVENT?
Many hypnotists don't video record their events because they don't want any proof if something goes wrong or of someone gets hurt. ALL of Ricks shows are video recorded, and the show DVD will be available for purchase after the show is over. This is a great addition to the memories of graduation students, or to those wanting to remember the best office party ever!
