"Sumter, South Carolina rhyme slinger Dave The King, AKA DtK, has shown the sort of drive in his young musical career that breeds success. Born in Charm City, Maryland and raised in part in North Carolina, DtK keeps moving south as his musical barometer moves north. DtK has developed quite an underground reputation in the Carolinas based on a series of popular mix tapes."
- Wildy Haskell, Ariel Publicity, Writerz Block
"DtK stands for Dave the King, and Writerz Block is a consistently good rap album. During "Writerz Block Outro," for instance, he mentions that calling him the best is an understatement. "Losing My Mind", is the track that sounds most like a hit single. It features a strong synth intro, while DtK's cadence is sure and steady. Although it may not be the most radio-ready recording on the disc, "I Just Wanna Do My Dance," is also one of the CD's better moments. It has a stripped down, '80s synth-pop sound that nicely hearkens back to Prince's Purple Rain heyday. For a rap album, there are many synth-pop elements here. Many of these tracks are straight out sex songs. "Damn Girl," for instance, expresses amazement that a girl can even fit into her tight jeans. The song is one of the songs on the album that stands out the most musically because it has a Latin, nearly reggaeton vibe, as well as a really bouncy beat."
- Dan MacIntosh, Ariel Publicity, Writerz Block
"There are several songs on Writerz Block that could get heavy rotation in the clubs, if given the chance. Dave works the floor on "Damn Girl," as Vybe lifts a rubbery acid line from techno's sound banks and drops it into a mid-tempo Miami Bass-inspired track complete with bass thumps, background sirens, and orchestral hits. Vybe continually proves to be a formidable partner for DtK, especially when handling production for dance floor selections. "I Just Wanna Do My Dance," puts a Southern bounce flip on the freestyle subgenre, resulting in an infectious groove. "Living Luxury," sounds as extravagant as the materialistic bars that Dave drops throughout the song, featuring an arsenal of summery and shiny synthesizer melodies. Never has being so money hungry sounded so positive, and due to the strength of its instrumental, listeners will be too busy nodding their heads to argue otherwise."

"If you're looking for a hard working artist, DtK is the one. He successfully juggles a career in the military, a family, and a career as an artist. Somehow he consistently delivers quality music"

"DtK makes hit songs in minutes. What more can you ask for in an artist?"
-Lil Hughes, Fellow Artist
"DtK has stage presence and that is a very important thing as an artist. When he performed at my venue he practically had the crowd begging for more. He manages to maintain the image as a rapper and be extremely professional at the same time. DtK is welcome to perform at my venue anytime."
-Owner, Shyan, Epiphany Jazz Café
"DtK steals the show and performs with an intensity not found today in most industry level artists. The set that he performed was 5 songs from his debut album, yet they were mixed in such a way that he finished them all just under 10 minutes. DtK brings energy, constant flow, and definitely gets a crowd hype."
-Owner, Club Apple Bottom
"DtK is an suave character and has some decent tunes. Its not really rap music, but then again neither is half the crap in the industry."
-Jane Dough, WZFX Foxy 99.1, Radio Personality
"DtK's album "Writerz Block" is the best cd by a new artist in a long time. DtK's music, although primarily rap, integrates many genres, making it accessible to a variety of people."
-Sean Pryme, Sensation Station Network, Radio Personality
