Client Testimonials (for customer privacy, I am only including the initials of my previous clients): JP: "Sonie exceeded our expectations! She was so pleasant to interact with from booking to follow-up, and she was a huge hit at our get-together. Everyone raved about her artistry and was so excited about their henna art. She managed her time really well so that no one felt rushed, and everyone really enjoyed interacting with her. I highly recommend her--she's a super talented artist that is worth way more than her very affordable fee." 03/28/16 JC: "I went to see Sonie to have my hand hennaed for a women's circle that I was leading. She was amazing!! Prices were really extremely reasonable, she is very warm and makes you feel comfortable, she explains the process clearly and leaves you with instructions on how to care for it. She is an artist and creates such beautiful pieces!!! I'm so going to be contacting her again" 03/26/16 ER: "Sonie is an amazing henna artist, and I cannot recommend her enough! I asked her to do henna for my bridal party. She did an intricate, gorgeous design for me, as well as beautiful, ornate designs for every single one of my guests! Her artistic skills are phenomenal, and she is always growing an evolving as an artist. She is happy to blend different styles of henna, and she can improvise a unique design based on your suggestions. She makes her own henna, which is extremely high quality, lasts a long time, and smells lovely. Not only is her work breathtaking, but she is an absolute pleasure to be around. I continue to get henna work from Sonie periodically, and I never cease to be amazed at how her amazing talent somehow continues to grow." 10/25/2015 Using henna for body art has been practiced for over 5000 years. It is a time honored tradition among various cultures of the world. The intricate designs can symbolize passages of life and are also applied simply for their beauty. Getting a henna tattoo is preferred by many people over a traditional tattoo because it is not painful, there is less chance of adverse reactions, and it is not permanent. Being temporary is appealing to many people because it allows them to change designs. Frequently recognized as Henna Tattoos, Mehndi, as it is known in India, is the latest craze yet its roots are centuries old and its practices, symbolism and traditions have been passed down through the ages by women. Traditionally the designs are placed on hands and feet, but now the modern generation has changed it all. They are now very popular on all visible areas of the body including the belly, forehead, neck arms, back and shoulders. Henna is a plant best known for its use to color and condition the hair naturally. The henna plant, famous from Rajasthan, India, grows in warm climates. The leaves from the plant are crushed and make into a paste to safely draw a design directly on the skin. The result of this temporary tattoo, traditionally reddish brown in color, will last any where from a few days to several weeks. The application process is painless and in no way harms the skin. I love experimenting with various designs of different cultures. Henna is so versatile and the designs differ so much from one region to another. I can get lost in the Contact San Diego's famous henna artist for your next party!
