Kaleo Naea of Kauai plays traditional Hawaiian Slack-key guitar and sings the songs of Aloha aina. His authentic Hawaiian music is appreciated for many occasions. Professional and experienced, Kaleo will bring the islands to you. A full band with Lap Steel, Ukulele, and Upright Bass is available to accompany Kaleo; also Hula dancers.
About Kaleo:
"Kaleo," meaning "the Voice," is Kamaaina (island born) and was raised on Kaua'i. Kaleo is the 7th generation of King Kaumuali'i - Kauai's last King. Kaleo learned about island history, and the ways and spirit of Aloha from his "tutu" ("grandmother" in Hawaiian), Kamanao Na'ea, who was a guitarist, singer and narrator at the Kodak Hula Show in Waikiki for two decades. She taught Kaleo to play and sing Hawaiian music from the day he was born.
Aloha aina:
In Hawaii, Aloha aina is the stewardship of land, with values deeply rooted in Hawaiian culture and tradition. In the mother tongue, ‘aina refers to that which feeds, that being the land, as well as the sea, and the all the things from it. To live with the value of Aloha aina is to exist as a part of the aina; to have the understanding that all things within and around this world are part of an interconnected fabric that makes up our realm, or honua. Aloha aina is to live with this understanding and apply that knowledge in one's work and lifestyle.

Hi,
Kaleo was very easy to work with and incredibly responsive during the wedding planning phase. We never had the opportunity to meet on the actual wedding day (I was a busy bride!), but the music was amazing, beautiful and exactly what we were looking for. I received a lot of compliments from family and friends about our ceremony and cocktail hour music as well. Perfect music for the perfect day! Thanks Kaleo & Bill!

Kaleo has a beautiful voice; terrific, talented muscicians on several Hawaiian instruments; and a beautiful, talented Hawaiian Hula dancer (Leona). He gave us everything we requested and was flexible with our birthday party program. He was prompt, professional, and friendly. I highly recommend Kaleo.
