Having just moved from the Seattle area to Austin, I am experiencing a "homecoming" as I was raised here, learned to play the harp here and am happy to be back after being out of state for the past 30 years. While in the Pacific Northwest, I received the 2015 and 2016 1st Place award in KING 5's "Best of Ceremony Music" and the 2015 "Couple's Choice" award with The Knot. I am available to play for weddings and corporate events throughout the South, particularly the Austin and Hill Country area of Texas. With over 25 years of professional experience, I am able to provide a seamless musical backdrop for your special day. Always adding to my repertoire, I play classical, jazz and Broadway standards and pop music from "oldies" to today's radio hits. Popular music, including some country, is my strength. With a free consultation, I will help you simplify the task of choosing music for your ceremony or reception. If there isn't printed music for a particular request, I can transcribe for the harp just for your occasion. Although my specialty is solo harp, I also collaborate with other musicians to create an ensemble or to accompany a vocalist of your choosing. Originally from Texas, I studied with Julia Hermann Edwards (Southern Methodist University) and Gail Horne Barrington (The University of Texas, Austin). I have played professionally in Texas, North Carolina,Illinois, Colorado, Washington State and Washington, D.C. The bulk of my career has been in the Chicago area delighting audiences at venues such as The Drake Hotel, The McCormick Convention Center, and The Four Seasons. In the Pacific Northwest for 20 years, I played at The Fairmont, McCaw Hall, Newcastle Golf Club, The Arctic Club, The Columbia Tower Club and many outdoor wineries and venues in the scenic beauty around the Puget Sound and in the Cascades. I am happy to play indoor or open air events wherever I can travel with my concert harp (or one of her two smaller harps, if you prefer). I arrive with flooring and/or a covering, if necessary, to protect from the weather elements that can damage the harp with sun or moisture. I have also played on stage with entertainers such as Frank Sinatra, JR, Michael W Smith, Peabo Bryson, Amy Grant, Anita Baker, Jeffrey Osborne and Roberta Flack. My first Christmas CD was released in 2016, and my second CD, UNWINDING: The Classics, Music for Sleep, Meditation and Relaxation, was released in 2019.
