Riza Hequibal123 Harpist from New York City, NY

Riza Hequibal has always had a love for music and its various means of interpretation. For twenty years, she has performed extensively as a soloist as well as in an array of ensembles across the country. Riza pursued her undergraduate studies (1990-1993) at the Indiana University School of Music, Bloomington, IN under the instruction of Distinguished Professor of Harp, Susan McDonald. Riza received her Bachelors of Music (1994) from Columbia College, Chicago, IL where she continued her studies in Jazz. She received a Master of Music (2008) from Georgia State University's School of Music under the instruction of Elisabeth Remy, Principal Harpist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Other instructors include Dominique Piana, Linda Wood, Beverly Wesner-Hoehn, Jazz harpists Stella Castelluci, Deborah Henson-Conant, and Distinguished Professor of Jazz, David Baker. Riza recently recorded with internationally acclaimed Jazz Trumpeter, Marcus Printup (of Jazz At Lincoln Center) on his latest album, 'Bird of Paradise' on Steeplechase Records. In addition to her vast repertoire of Classical Music, Riza provides unique and elegant original stylings of Jazz Standards, Bossa Nova & Show Tunes. She is able to perform with ensembles of various sizes.
