Kela Walton Harpist from Arlington, TX

Delight your guests with beautiful harp music for any occasion by Kela Walton a professional freelance harpist. Kela has over 20 years of experience performing for weddings, parties, fund raisers, corporate events, and other special occasions. She helps brides and grooms choose music for their wedding that reflects their unique personalities and gives their ceremony a personal touch. A wedding music consultation in-person or via video conferencing is included in the ceremony price. Whether it be for a lavish Texas governor's inauguration ball or an intimate backyard wedding, "I enjoy working with clients to select elegant music to make any occasion memorable." Native Texan, Kela is thrilled to be back in the metroplex! Her harp career has taken her many interesting places. Kela served as one year Interim Principal Harpist with Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra as well as on the orchestra's international tour in Poland. She can be heard on the 2019 release "Respighi: Roman Trilogy" for the Naxos label, as well as several other recordings for the BPO. Kela held a four year position at Austin's Historic Driskill Hotel on 6th Street as harpist for tea and holiday brunches. Other notable performances include engagements with the Austin Symphony Orchestra, Brevard Music Center Chamber Series, Roberto Diaz, Warren Haynes, Al Jarreau, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, San Antonio Symphony, Vanessa Williams, and Victor Wooten. Kela is an enthusiastic educator and teaches harp lessons to students of all ages. When not at the harp Kela enjoys running and practicing yoga. Kela Walton holds a BM in Harp Performance from the University of Texas At Austin, and a MM in Harp Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Houston Moores School of Music.
