Alix Raspe is a graduate of New York University, with a Bachelor of Music in Harp Performance and minor in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies. In Fall of 2015, Alix will be attending New England Conservatory for her Masters in Harp Performance. She will be studying with Jessica Zhou, Principal of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
In 2015, Alix was awarded the Excellence in String Performance and Leadership Award and was asked to perform a concerto the next year as a guest artist at NYU. That same year, Alix was also awarded the NYU Orchestra Excellence Award. Alix is also a recipient of the NYU Founders Award for Academic Excellence. In 2012, Alix was runner-up in the NYU Concerto Competition. Alix attended Juilliard Pre-College from 2009-2011 where she studied with June Han. In 2007, Alix received the Annapolis Music Festival Maestro Award as an Outstanding Soloist.
Alix has performed in Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Juilliard's Paul Hall, Morse Hall and Symphony Space. She also has attended Aspen Music Festival, Bowdoin International Music Festival, MusicAlp, Saratoga Harp Colony, Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific, and Interlochen Arts Camp.
Alix has also had the unique experience of teaching several young harpists and flutists ensemble skills at Elyrica Summer Harp and Flute Camp. Alix is the President of MetroHarp, Young Harpist's Alliance (YHA), a non-profit organization for young harpists in the Metropolitan area.
As an orchestral harpist, Alix has performed with the Juilliard Pre-College Symphony and Orchestra, Park Avenue Symphony, Chelsea Symphony, LoftOpera, NYU Symphony, and Manchester Music Festival. Alix is the Principal Harpist of the NYU Symphony, Park Avenue Symphony and QUO. Alix currently studies with Bridget Kibbey at NYU.
