Introducing Dan the Harmonica Hitman, the newest member of the harmonic mafia, and a highly-skilled professional. Dan (whose last name shall remain secret to preserve his identity) is a Grammy Award-wanter, Italian-visited artist, who is one of the most talked-about artists in this paragraph. He's not just a sideman, he's a hitman. His solo's are killin'. The Harmonica Hitman hits again! The Harmonica Hitman must always B-sharp. Want to put a hit on your next song? Make your album a hit! Call the Harmonica Hitman.
In all seriousness, Dan is a Canadian-born, American musician and songwriter. Having no formal training, Dan noted from a young age that he had musical savant-like abilities, not only perfect and relative pitch, but also an audiographic memory, and could immediately play back any melody or song he heard, doing so in any key, on any instrument. After acquiring over 300 instruments and hanging them around the walls of his home using pegboard, like tools hung in a garage, Dan then started inventing and gigging on his own unique invented instruments, some currently patent pending. A true virtuoso with highest-level musicianship, Dan plays all styles of music, ranging from classic pop and top 40, to jazz, to latin, to unique odd-time signatures, to ethnic music from various cultures around the world. He enjoys the challenge of what he terms “instrumentally hybrid music,” performing and blending unique instrumentation into musical genres where these sounds and rhythms are atypical unexpected, doing so in a way that is tasteful, unique, and refreshing.
With respect to the harmonica, Dan is both a diatonic and chromatic harmonica musician. Dan draws from influences such as Howard Levy, Brenden Powers, Toots Thielmans, Gregroire Maret, Yvonnick Priene, and his Nana Ruth.
