The feeling of warmth and intimacy created by the vibrating strings of a solo classical guitar is both colorful and engaging. Its sound encourages a relaxed and open sense of closeness among friends and guests alike. From Bach's sarabandes through Chopin's etudes, the great guitar music from Spain's Francesco Tarrega through Heitor Villa-Lobos of Brazil, the incomparable jazz of Duke Ellington, Thelonius Monk, and Miles Davis, incredible tunes of the best song writers from Jerome Kern through the Beatles, in addition to blues, latin, world music and more, all of it is a tonal feast when played on a classical guitar, and is subtle enough to make for a gentle yet lively atmosphere. I have performed in concert for over three decades both solo and with groups and ensembles in many styles of music, and played at countless events and private affairs such as weddings, corporate functions, anniversaries, and more. When providing live music for weddings and other private gatherings, I keep the mood warm and alive, moving through a pallette of different musical styles to sustain interest and entertain guests, and always maintain a sense of professionalism while keeping a high level of artistic integrity.
"We cannot thank you enough for playing at our wedding. The music was incredible. I can't imagine what the mood would have been without your music. The piece you played as we walked down the aisle was beautiful and made the moment feel very special. Thank you for being a part of our special day."
-Alyson and Jerry Graybill / South Berwick, ME
"David's playing is absolutely first rate. His solo and group performances at our establishment always draw an overwhelming response. And his lovely ensemble CD "Some Sort of Angel" is the music enjoyed every night in our dining room."
-Richard Fink / Ariel's Restaurant, Brookfield, Vt.
"Our firm recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, marking the occasion with two parties given in Montpelier and Burke. David's impressive performing and his personal warmth were felt by all of our guests to be central to the success of our happy events. He is a truly fine artist and his music a real pleasure to hear."

All that anyone needs to know about me can be found on my website, which is provided with my email and phone to you when my bid is sent to you. My music, a comprehensive biography, album reviews, photos and videos, an extensive interview reprinted from Fanfare Magazine which along with my bio, sums up fairly well who I am musically, professionally, and personally, even a blog, all of it is there. All of my private affair dates and even some concerts are booked through GigMasters. It is a very well done site through which contracts are generated, deposits and/or final payments made, your comments recorded, and just about anything else needed for hiring me to play at your event. I do not charge for traveling as I include this in my fee. I also pay GigMasters' commission fee. In addition, I have provided here a partial yet extensive music and song list, more than enough to cover any length of playing time. Because of the selections available for wedding music, I usually do not take requests due to the time required for learning them. But I do make exceptions depending on the piece. I will let you know if the piece can be arranged for guitar and if I have the extra time in my schedule. Many pieces simply cannot be fully adapted to a solo guitar, or leave one with a sense that something is somehow lacking without the full recorded production we're all acquainted with. Many pop tunes fall into this category Please keep in mind that wedding processional and recessional music pieces will rarely take more than one minute each, or one & half minutes if there will be a longer walk to the ceremony spot. So choose thoughtfully.
