Mie'l & Company is about to release a new album in the spring of 2015, and it is sure to take gospel music in another direction. With this album expected to be a success, the exciting, new fangled sound that has been created is certain to gain interest from across the globe.
The development of this unique style is the result of a lifetime of musical influences and imagination of their leader Richie Irby aka Mie'L. Growing up in a talented musical family meant that Richie was always surrounded by different forms of music. His mother, aunt and uncles were singers, and they exposed him to a wealth of music in his childhood, all of which influenced his development.
His former life as a quartet musician was fashioned after different groups that he's played for, recorded with and gave advice to, but as years went by, found it was much greater to combine his multiple unique styles, gained from a variety of genres, together and create a whole new sound, and that he did with this project.
After realizing that making music was his main goal, he began to showcase his talent in various venues across the nation, playing at numerous gigs and making sure that his name and his music were being heard by as many people as possible. He was quickly noted for the unique style that he brought to the gospel scene, and popularity began to grow.
Finally, after honing his unique sound over the years, he is now, finally, releasing his new album, “Designed For Purpose”, which underlies the challenges and changes that he has gone through over the years. The biggest of these were to understand himself as a man of God, which have allowed him to develop as a person, and have in turn profoundly aided his musical development.
