Nate Marsh is an acoustic guitar soloist, harmonica player and vocal performer based in Chicago. As a newly signed artist to an emerging record label out of New York City called The Verge Records his original works will soon be available for sale to the public online at several major media outlets. Currently, Nate performs 3 hours a day, 7 days a week at 6 different Potbelly Sandwich Works locations in downtown Chicago and Lincoln Square as well as Costello?s. He has performed at several other local establishments such as Uncommon Ground, Sylvie?s Lounge, High Tops, The Pint, Abbey Pub, Winds Café¬ Heartland Café¬ Leila Jane, The Tonic Room, The Store, Weeds, Tavern 33, PJ Clarke and is soon to appear at Smoke Daddy.
Nate has over 25 years experience in music, 20 of those singing and 18 on guitar. He has also been writing songs for over a decade producing nearly a hundred original works to date. His early piano training is reflected in a unique, jazzy, one man band, finger picking style which he has developed since he began playing guitar at a young age.
Maintaining a well dressed image while performing, his display offers a very nice visual presentation which compliments the impressive background soundtrack he lends to any classy dining setting. His set up is very sleek and quite functional in the smallest of spaces as you can see from the photo on the back of this page. Nate plays at an agreeable and tasteful volume that?s easy to converse over or lend an ear to if you please. His lyrical content is highly appropriate for a family setting being clean and descent yet at the same time greatly entertaining for all ages. He can perform up to 4 hours of material with no repeats.
Mixed with his many original works, he also performs his own renditions of a wide, eclectic range of various popular numbers in a light, upbeat, jazz tribute style. His repertoire features the works of artists spanning many genres including oldies, classic rock, modern rock, country, bluegrass, R&B, soul, traditional, folk and blues cover tunes, some of which are listed here.
