Crooked Timber Country Duo from Stow, OH

CROOKED TIMBER is a two-man acoustic band (comprising Scott Ryan and Rob Maloni) that makes its music with such traditional and world instruments as guitars, bass, mandolins and djembe. The result is a pleasing, original acoustic sound with a variety of influences including folk, rock, bluegrass and country. Rounding out the songs are clever, thoughtful and sometimes cheeky lyrics that repay close and repeated listening. (The band's name, by the way, comes from a line attributed to philosopher Immanuel Kant: Out of the crooked timber of humanity, no straight thing was ever made.) In addition, we play a host of cover songs; our cover material includes much of the folk/rock of the 60's and 70's as well as our own arrangements of such Great American Songbook gems as Summertime, Ain't Misbehavin', and Fly Me To The Moon. Our music is family friendly and all ages can enjoy our tunes.
