Fr. Ron & Friends Folk Band from New Orleans, LA

Fr. Ron & Friends is a folk group playing mostly music from the 19th and 20th century. Woody Guthrie, Odetta, Lead Belly, Pete Seeger and Bob Dylan tunes are included. In addition, the band plays some originals that match the music from this era. Hard Living Man, Refugee, Peregrinatio and other originals highlight the set list. The Friends play in such bands as the Prescriptions; Subliminators; 61 South; Mikayla Braun; Crooked Vines; Sturmlandia; Olivia Greene; Nigel Ra'of; House of Bishops Zydeco Show and Blues Review; and many other groups that have long played New Orleans and the Gulf South. Their broad musical experience has brought a depth to the Great American Folk Song Singalong. The Great American Folk Song Singalong is an event where the audience participates in singing these great songs from the American songbook. The event helps bring back memories and spark a sense of connection with an important part of the American spirit. Fr. Ron Clingenpeel (an Episcopal priest, poet, composer, writer) leads the band with voice, guitars and ukulele.
