American flutist Scott Douglas is a Chicago-based chamber/orchestral musician and has performed in some of the most prestigious venues throughout the country. He was the first piccoloist to win the Chicago College of Performing Arts Solo Competition and performed Vivaldi's Piccolo Concerto in C major, RV 443, with the CCPA Baroque Orchestra in September. Mr. Douglas maintains a career as a freelance artist and recently served as principal flute of the Northwest Chicago Symphony & Northwest Festival Orchestra. He has worked with several recording companies in Chicago and Cleveland, including Cedille Records, Genesis 54, Inc., and Two Step Productions, and has been a featured performer on WFMT 98.7 and WCLV 104.9. Mr. Douglas has collaborated with several community outreach projects in the Chicago Public Schools and enjoys teaching throughout the Chicago area.

Scott Douglas has performed in master classes led by esteemed flutists such as Mathieu Dufour (CSO), Richard Graef (CSO), Marie Tachouet (Lyric Opera of Chicago), Dionne Jackson (Lyric Opera of Chicago), Joshua Smith (Cleveland Orchestra), Mary Kay Fink (Cleveland Orchestra), Demarre McGill (Dallas Symphony), Nicolas Duchamp (L'Opéra comic), and Marcia Kämper (Baltimore Symphony). A native of Cleveland, OH, Scott holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music degree from the Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University. His principal teachers were Eugenia Moliner, Thomas Robertello, and George Pope.

In addition to solo performances, Scott Douglas's flute/guitar duo (Duo 617) is available upon request. Duo 617 was recently created by guitarist Zhivko Nikolov and flutist Scott Douglas. A collaboration of 6 strings and 17 tone holes, they unite as one musical entity to explore exciting flute and guitar repertoire from across the globe.
