DJ Kimmy Nu is one of St. Louis' hottest rising talents, at 21, she's already a member 24 scientists, (only female) a family of DJ's under the leadership of DJ Charlie Chan. She is as well as a member of Addicted Dopeness, Nerve Djs and HitBreaka Djs and BloccBangaz coalitions. She's making a name for herself in this “male dominating field' in Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, Neo-Soul and House music. This rising star discovered her love of music and gift from God as a young teen listening and watching her father (DJ P-Smurf aka DJ Legit). She's performed at several high school functions and made a name for herself DJ'ing at numerous house parties, skating rinks and other venues. By 16 she was recruited as a Hitbreaka Dj, one of the older coalitions held in St. Louis, MO. Eventually, DJ Kimmy Nu would grow older and begin her life as a college student, majoring in Mass Communication and Broadcasting at Missouri Southern State University (MSSU). The only female personality at Kissin 92.5 a radio station located in Joplin, MO and also the only female to DJ for the 4-state area, reaching Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. In addition to working for Kissin 92.5, she would also host and produce her own show on KXMS 88.7 also located in Joplin, MO. She quickly gained notoriety in 2011 after participating as the only female DJ at Battle of The DJ's held in Springfield, MO where she took home first place against five talented male DJ's. A year after that she decided to return home and better her self and build her following. She has been successful in doing so. Attending University of Missouri St. Louis and getting back into radio, being a radio personality on UMSL Radio “The U” mixing and interviewing artist all around the Mid-West Region on her show called The Konnect. She has been djing all over her city and state for all ages and genres. At 22, djing on rooftops at the Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, Harrys, Marquee, Lola to djing charity and Greek functions, middle and high schools and even her new school University of St. Louis Missouri. Humbled to being able to dj all events she was delighted to land a spot to dj with Dj Spinderella New Years Eve into the New Year, opening up for artist such as Kevin Gates, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Bibby, Chevy Woods, and Lil Debbie. DJ Kimmy Nu has played alongside some of St. Louis' finest, DJ Tab, DJ Krisstyle, Dj Ajay, DJ Homicide and under the mentorships of DJ Charlie Chan, County Brown, King Odie and her father (Dj Psmurf). Her dad always had called her “Quiet As Kept” for so long and now she's really spreading her wings. DJ Kimmy Nu's appreciation for music (all genres), further stimulates her desire to create her own style of music one day. She has taken this passion onto another level by owning her business “Dj Kimmy Nu Entertainment LLC.” As she continues to grow, her fan base grows to watch her chase and live her dreams. As an owner now, with two artists under her belt and being one of the top 10 Djs in St. Louis, only female on that list, it wasn't easy to come by. Honored and humbled to be noticed and deemed in that category she's grateful, but is striving to obtain knowledge and learn every aspect of the entertainment business while enhancing her skills, continuing to expand her fan base, and advance in this profession.
