Appalachian Countdown  Bluegrass Band from Bluefield, WV

APPALACHIAN COUNTDOWN headed up by VIRGIL HARDEN has been entertaining enthusiastic Bluegrass fans for the past ten years.Providing a memorable selection of Bluegrass music to entertain your guests for your special occasion is most important to him. Virgil and his band are available for events within a 500 mile radios from Bluefield WV. Collectively the musicians in the band have more then 85 years of musical experience. They play a wide range of Bluegrass music from traditional hard driving , high stepping pieces to frequently requested tender love songs and heart warming gospel choices . Together ,we can plan the perfect event by selecting the music that best fits the mood of the occasion. Touch on the song list next to the bio and you will see a number of songs frequently performed. We usually take requests in advance of the scheduled event to insure the correctness of the desired music. Over the years we have entertained at many weddings, engagements parties, reunions, birthdays, anniversaries, fundraisers, festivals and other special events. The gentlemen in the band are all non drinkers and do not patronize events that promote alcoholic beverages. Virgil , who is well known for the more then 200 songs he has written , opened for Cledus T Judd at a Labor Day celebration at Pineville WV by singing the national anthem. Virgil and his band continued the festivities by playing many traditional Bluegrass selections as well as frequently requested originals from Virgil's CD's. Their fee is based on numerous factors:the number of musicians ,the length of the performance , travel expenses,sound and other equipment needed to provide the desired music for the event.
